We are known by the company we keep!
The following is a small sampling of the unsolicited testimonials we receive.
DIOCESE OF AUSTIN, AUSTIN, TX
MR. JOHN MCCARTHY, BISHOP OF AUSTIN It is my pleasure to recommend the firm Spencer Godfrey Architects. During my 14-year tenure as Bishop of the Diocese of Austin, this firm has completed a number of projects for our various parishes. They have consistently demonstrated their professionalism and have created some very fine architectural additions to this Diocese. With each new commission they have received, Bo Spencer and Mike Godfrey have uniformly demonstrated their abilities to work well with parish building committees and with priests as well as with our own Diocesan Building Commission. In addition, Bo and Mike have aided us in setting some of the building design and construction contractual standards. They have also introduced us to new and innovative methods for the selection of general contractors. I have been to a number of the building dedications for projects designed by this firm and in every case, I have been pleased to find very satisfied parishioners and pastors, all happy that the project had been completed on time and, most of all, within established budgetary limitations. I am confident that to a large extent, these successes were a direct reflection of the efforts of these architects. I have no reservations whatsoever in recommending this firm to any church for the design of their facilities.
RIZZO CONSTRUCTION, AUSTIN, TX
MR. ROBERT M. RIZZO, PRESIDENT When Amanda called Wednesday and asked if I would be willing to write a letter of recommendation for your firm, I felt honored and excited. I am often asked for letters of reference for people and firms that we have professional relationships with, but none have been as easy to write than this one. As you know, we have known each other for many years and during the past four or five years have been in close working relationships on several projects. The firm that the two of you have built over the years is one in which you have the right to be very proud of. Everyone that I have dealt with at Spencer Godfrey is a true professional. I would rank your organization as one of the best architectural firms in the area. In seeing your dealings with clients and engineers, your level of cooperation and knowledge of the practice of architecture is evident in the respect and trust that you have with all that work with you. Your firm's attitude of designing quality architecture, but keeping the client's interest and budget at the foreground are qualities that I do not have experience much in other architectural firms that I have dealt with in the many years that I have been in this business. I look forward to any project that we can work on together, and you can be assured that we are very aggressive with our bids on your projects. Your professionalism makes our job easier. In closing, I want you to know that you can depend on me as a very strong reference and would be happy to discuss your qualifications with anyone who would ask.
AUSTIN CANYON CORPORATION, AUSTIN, TX
MR. MIKE NAZAR, PRESIDENT Please allow this letter to thank you for the experience of working with Spencer Godfrey Architects on the construction of the A+ Federal Credit Union in Leander, Texas. From our perspective as a General Contractor and Construction Manager we appreciated working with your firm and consider Spencer Godfrey among the best in professionally administrating a project. Your firm demonstrated a strong, responsible and pro-active leadership that allowed traditional roles of the Owner, Architect and Contractor to be honored, yet all parties to the Contract were treated as a team member. We have constructed numerous banks and credit union facilities over our tenure and, given the successful completion of the Leander Branch of the A+ Credit Union would look forward to the prospect of working with Spencer Godfrey Architects in the future on either Design-Build, Construction Management at Risk or General Contracting methods of service delivery. If we can ever be of assistance in the future, please don't hesitate to call.
CITIZENS NATIONAL BANK, CAMERON, TX
MR. MICHAEL E. VANCE, PRESIDENT AND CEO It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Spencer Godfrey Architects, Inc. Our bank has had a relationship with this firm for over three years. Their initial project for our company was a branch banking center located in Pflugerville, Texas. Their responsibility was for design and construction management of the building. The project was a great success. We contribute this success to the professional manner this firm brought to our project. In addition to the new branch construction, we have also used this firm for remodeling ideas in two other banking centers. As our company looks at future expansion, we will once again call on the services of this firm to provide our architectural needs. If you have any additional questions regarding this firm, please feel free to contact me.
FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, ROUND ROCK, TX
MR. LEO MAGUIRE It is my distinct pleasure to provide this letter of recommendation for Spencer Godfrey Architects in relation to the work they have done for First United Methodist Church of Round Rock. As Chairman of our building committee I can state without reserve that this firm has met, and in many cases exceeded our expectations. We originally hired Spencer Godfrey Architects in 1996 to master plan the balance of our property and design a new administration and classroom building, as well as schematically design a new sanctuary. We constructed the administration and classroom facility in 1998. In year 2000 we again retained Spencer Godfrey Architects to proceed with the development of the design for our proposed new sanctuary. As a part of these services, the architects aided us in the early selection of a contractor, Brath, Inc., to work with the design team and our committee in analyzing costs. Construction began in 2002 and will complete this July. Though the design process for the sanctuary was at times arduous, that was primarily due to the complexity of the facility and our desires for highly detailed design and a structure that would last a long time. The cost of our dreams exceeded our initial budget target. The architects and contractor provided us with detailed analysis of the various design elements that could be reduced or eliminated to save cost, but in the end we elected to proceed with the facility as planned. However, the architects remained proactive with ideas that would be faithful to the design objectives yet be less costly to construct. Bo Spencer, his design associate Denise Gray, and the rest of Spencer Godfrey Architects associated with this project worked very diligently with us through the entire process of design refinement, decision making during the construction document phase, final costing analysis, interior design and color selections, pew manufacturer selection, and the long period of construction. They have consistently been timely and responsive, both in their communications with the Owner as well as the contractor. Speaking on behalf of the entire building committee I have no hesitancy in recommending this firm for your upcoming church project. Should you require further information or input, I can be reached at [REDACTED] during the work week.
SANTA CRUZ CATHOLIC CHURCH, BUDA, TEXAS
MR. PAUL CURTIN, SANTA CRUZ BUILDING COMMITTEE “When planning the building of our new church, the Santa Cruz Building Committee interviewed several architects from the Austin area. From these interviews, the proposals submitted, inspection of completed projects, and conversations with previous clients it was the unanimous decision of the committee to retain Spencer Godfrey as architects for our project. Since that time, we have worked very closely with them on master site planning, schematic design, and costing and are now in the design development drawing stage. To date, we have been very pleased with the work of Spencer Godfrey. Bo Spencer and Mike Godfrey have both been very available when required, responsive to the wishes of our building committee, and creative in developing designs that best answer the needs of the parish. Their considerable experience in church design, including several for the Catholic Diocese of Austin, serves them well in translating our parish dreams into practical realities. Even though we are still in the design development stage, their cost estimating abilities to date have enabled us to make informed decisions regarding various options. In all of our contacts so far, Bo Spencer and Mike Godfrey have demonstrated an honest, professional, straight-forward approach in working with the committee. They have done a good job in proposing alternative solutions to design problems and thoroughly explain the pros and cons of each design to assist us make correct decisions. They tell us when they feel our proposed requirements are impractical or improper and suggest more viable alternatives. Our work with Spencer Godfrey to date has been a good experience that I feel will ultimately result in a great new church for Santa Cruz Parish.”
DUPONT WORLD WIDE HEADQUARTERS, ROUND ROCK, TEXAS
MR. CHRIS HIGGS, McCOMB CONSTRUCTION CO, INC. “As I sit here in this beautiful facility we recently completed I think it is time to give some credit to the lead architectural team. As is always the case with a finished product from your firm, the plans were complete and detailed. If there was clarification needed you and Kirk were ready to offer guidance and information, as is evidenced by the many calls and questions you fielded (sometimes as many as 6 per hour). I have worked with Architects who live in ivory towers and actually take offense and get angry with questions. I have been told to look at drawings and quit bothering the designer (These drawings were never complete and were incapable of communicating the design teams' intent.) But with your firm, including your very competent support staff, no question was too “stupid.” Your willingness to work in the real world is a valuable asset that any client or general contractor should appreciate as being of prime consideration and of utmost importance.
Your firm has the ability to recognize the Owners concerns and balance these with the constraints of the construction process. I appreciate deeply the support you give the GC and your true understanding of the building process.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY ANNEX, CEDAR PARK, TEXAS
MR. GREG BOATRIGHT, COUNTY COMMISSIONER “This letter is to inform you of the professionalism and quality design provided to Williamson County by the firm of Spencer Godfrey Architects. Spencer Godfrey Architects designed the Williamson County Annex located in Cedar Park on Discovery Boulevard. Anyone who has been in or seen our annex realizes the quality of design and construction. Mike Godfrey worked closely with myself and other elected officials and department heads to design a building that fit our needs now and for the future. I whole-heartedly recommend Bo Spencer and Mike Godfrey and would welcome any questions you would have concerning their firm.” Gallery of Work | Links | Contact Us |
